She is reday to face anything in love for the happiness of her beloved Sakthivel.

Ayyadurai - Ayyadurai is the head of the joint family and Sakthivel's father. A very stubborn man, who holds joint family traditions in very high regard and will not let anything break the family especially love marriage. A kind hearted person, he sees both sides to any problem. All his family members hold him respect and follow him. Kannakalingam - He is Ayyadurai's brother-in-law. Kannakalingam is the strategist of the family.

Though he seems like a very jovial and lighthearted person on the outside, he is a very calculative. Vishwanatha Iyer - He is Janaki's father who works in the postal department. He strongly believes that a person can achieve status and respect in a society only with the strong foundation of higher education.

His hopes of higher education are completely pinning on his daughter as his sons have disappointed him. Parimalam - She is Kannakalingam's daughter who is madly in love with Sakthivel. She has been brought up with the dreams, that she will one day marry Sakthivel, but her hopes are crashed when she discovers Sakthivel's marriage to Janaki. She is the major threat to Janaki's happy marital life.

Chinnadurai - He is Ayyadurai's younger brother. Like his brother, he holds in high regard the tradition of a joint family. Though the brothers have similar views on a subject, the way they handle them is what tells them apart. A very short tempered person, is feared by all in the family.
